DCM invests primarily in early-stage domestic companies, though they do invest selectively in late-stage and international companies. Typically they are the lead investor, but they will syndicate, co-lead or co-invest based on a company's needs. DCM has made investments as small as $500K in very early stage companies, but their usual initial investment is $3 to $7 million, with an equal amount reserved for future rounds. Their total investment in any one company is generally up to $15 million. |
