John Tritak
John S. Tritak is CEO of Good Harbor Consulting, LLC and the former director of the U.S. governments Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office (CIAO), a federal interagency organization created by presidential directive in 1998 to coordinate the development and implementation of U.S. policy on securing the nations critical infrastructures. There he coordinated the development of the Administrations National Strategy for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Cyberspace Security; assisting Federal departments and agencies in identifying their key assets and critical infrastructure dependencies and national awareness and outreach efforts to private industry and State and Local governments. Mr. Tritak was a member of the Presidents Critical Infrastructure Protection Board.
Before joining the CIAO, Mr. Tritak was an attorney with the law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand, Chartered, where he provided advice and counsel on wide range of legal, legislative and policy matters, including critical infrastructure protection, to domestic and international clients in the defense, telecommunications, and transportation industries.
Mr. Tritak previously served in numerous positions in the State Departments Bureau of Politico-Military Affairs, including Deputy Director for Defense Relations and Security Assistance, where he coordinated U.S. efforts in security assistance and defense trade in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; Deputy Director of the Bureaus Office of Policy Analysis, advising on matters relating to postwar Persian Gulf security; Deputy Political Advisor to the commander-in-chief of U.S. Central Command in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Shield; and State Department adviser to the U.S. delegation negotiating the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Tritak was also an analyst on national security and military matters at Pacific Sierra Research.
Mr. Tritak received a B.S. in political science from the State University of New York at Brockport and an M.A. in War Studies from the University of London, Kings College. He earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. |
